Practicing my street photography

I was in Angouleme last weekend. If you’ve ever been you will no doubt be familiar with the old town. Like any other historic French city, Angouleme has its share of picturesque streets, lanes and squares, often filled with boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. In the case of this photo, I was headed for a drink at the cafe situated bottom middle of the picture. More from the inside of the cafe will follow in future posts. I’ve been reading and watching a lot lately about the rules of photography, as well as getting advice from some friends, and so I wanted to find an opportunity to test it out. I’m particularly pleased with this picture which combines leading lines, perspectives and highlights. All of which I have tried to maximise for the value of the photo.

Hope you enjoy, thanks for visiting the site, click the pic below to be taken to my instagram feed.
